About the position

The Associate Product Manager will be recognized as a future leader within the Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands, which is based in St. Louis, Missouri. This individual will have the opportunity to manage one specific brand or work across multiple brands and products, depending on business needs. The role involves responsibility for both long- and short-term growth and profitability of product lines, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams in marketing and product development. The Associate Product Manager will participate in the annual planning process, support the development of product strategies, and serve as the voice for the assigned brand portfolio across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and support the annual planning process including financial and business analysis, consumer planning, leading agency partners, and P&L development.
  • Support in developing the overall vision for product pipeline, development strategies, and product portfolio mix.
  • Direct consumer research strategies and execute in partnership with Consumer Insights.
  • Develop compelling stories with Sales and Consumer Insights teams for retailer or channel specific solutions.
  • Serve as the voice for assigned brand portfolio for all key constituencies including sales, R&D, regulatory, operations, and finance.
  • Lead product management and development from inception to discontinuance for assigned products.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and developing business building ideas.
  • Work to gain alignment and buy-in from cross-functional business partners on key initiatives.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive analysis of objectives, execution, and future planning implications.
  • Analyze business performance to gauge performance against brand objectives and develop implications and program recommendations.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of marketing and/or product experience with a strong track record of increasing responsibility.
  • Experience in new product development from concept inception through market introduction.
  • Experience in developing and executing annual marketing plans, including advertising, media, and consumer promotion planning.
  • Experience in developing pricing strategies and product P&Ls.
  • Solid grasp of consumer research methodologies.
  • Participation in key account sales presentations and collaboration with sales and other functional departments.
