About the position

The Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a visionary leader for the position of Director and Division Chief of Epilepsy within the Department of Neurology. This role involves overseeing a Level IV epilepsy center, leading clinical, research, and educational missions, and advancing epilepsy care, particularly for underserved populations. The ideal candidate will be an MD or equivalent, board certified in Neurology and Epilepsy, with a strong background in clinical and research leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and advance all epilepsy and EEG services across Emory's primary teaching hospitals.
  • Oversee the tripartite clinical, research, and educational mission, reporting directly to the Chair of Neurology.
  • Manage scheduling and staff assignments with the assistance of department managers.
  • Participate in departmental and medical staff committees, budgetary and strategic planning, and recruitment of division members.
  • Lead or foster research from the Epilepsy division and its interactions with other departments.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent physician with board certification in Neurology and Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology.
  • Eligible for licensure in Georgia.
  • Proven success in leading a clinical and research program.
  • Commitment to advancing epilepsy care and education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing a Level IV epilepsy center.
  • Familiarity with multimodal neuroimaging technologies.
  • Background in neuromodulation techniques for epilepsy.
