About The Position

WSP is seeking an Associate Project Controller to join their Earth and Environment Project Management group in Lakewood, CO. This junior role involves participating in various stages of project life cycles for consulting services related to earth and environment projects, including site characterization, environmental permitting, and water treatment. The position focuses on ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while collaborating closely with Project Managers and Technical Managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field, or 2-3 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience as a project controller.
• Experience with SharePoint, Adobe, and Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and accounting data formulas.
• Basic knowledge of project management principles and PMI's Body of Knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• PMP certification would be an asset.
• Previous experience in consulting, mining, or construction industries.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and coordinating the project according to WSP's Project Delivery Manual and quality control procedures.
• Assisting Project Manager and project team in monitoring and controlling budgets, expenditures, schedules, and deliverables.
• Preparing subcontractor and supplier work orders, purchase orders, and invoicing payments.
• Utilizing scheduling software and Excel for budget and financial forecasting.
• Producing high-quality technical deliverables, including invoicing and budget forecasting.
• Identifying technical problems and analyzing their impact on projects, working with technical resources to resolve issues.
• Managing project SharePoint sites and completing training on assigned tasks.
