About the position

The Associate Project Controls Specialist I position is an entry-level role focused on performing basic project control activities, including cost and scheduling management. The role involves learning essential project control terminology and principles, collecting and managing data, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of project reporting. This position is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in project controls within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic Project Control activities.
  • Learn cost and/or scheduling terminology.
  • Understand the principles of a Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Collect data, input updates, and produce basic cost/scheduling management reports.
  • Ensure efficiency and accuracy in generating and gathering data; maintain orderly records to ensure the integrity of the system.
  • Provide and collect historical information.
  • Assist in the change management process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study.
  • No required years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • An accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent with business and computer software courses.
  • Possess strong personal computer skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of automated accounting and cost management systems.
