About the position

The Associate Project Manager, Technical Operations at BioMarin plays a crucial role in managing project execution plans and timelines within the Technical Operations group. This position supports cross-functional partnerships to ensure the availability of products to external partners and patients, while also serving as a subject matter expert to operationalize project plans aligned with product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Creation and management of execution plans, timelines, and project controls.
  • Partnering with Team leads to drive execution of project plans in alignment with product strategies.
  • Facilitating and managing team meetings, including scheduling, agenda development, and drafting minutes.
  • Preparation of routine status reports and communication of project progress to stakeholders.
  • Identifying project issues, risks, or scheduling constraints and assisting in their resolution.
  • Promoting a culture of collaboration and effective communication within the team.
  • Assisting TOPS Product Teams in developing presentations for project reviews.
  • Identifying cross-project synergies to leverage efficiencies.
  • Contributing to the development of best practices and process optimizations.
  • Managing projects supporting continuous improvements of program management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years total relevant experience, including project management.
  • At least 2+ years in a project management role.
  • Understanding of biotech or drug product development and multi-project planning.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and update complex schedules.
  • Experience in early-stage CMC development and portfolio management is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others in English.
  • Strong risk management analysis and project management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Word, MS PowerPoint; MS-Project preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CMC activities for development programs (Clinical stage).
  • Exposure to portfolio management.
  • Lean-DMAIC expertise, Green belt or higher certification.
  • Strong regulatory and GMP acumen, specifically ICH8-12.
  • PMP Certification.
