About the position

The Associate Project Manager at Vertex Education plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) by facilitating and executing various projects aimed at transforming lives through education. This position involves independent management of facilitation and mentorship projects, coordination among multiple stakeholders, and the promotion of best practices in project management across the organization. The Associate Project Manager will work under the guidance of the PMO Supervisor to ensure alignment with organizational goals and effective communication among teams.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage facilitation and mentorship projects, ensuring alignment with PMO standards and organizational goals.
  • Develop and monitor project plans, timelines, and key milestones, keeping all deliverables on schedule and within scope.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration among stakeholders, fostering alignment and effective decision-making.
  • Track progress and maintain accountability for project deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Assist Project Managers with planning and executing larger projects by taking ownership of specific tasks and components.
  • Develop project artifacts, oversee execution of deliverables, and provide administrative support as delegated by a Project Manager.
  • Serve as a liaison among project managers, vendors, and departments to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Co-manage larger initiatives with Product Managers, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in tracking and managing timelines and deliverables for product-related projects.
  • Facilitate project documentation and maintain records for product initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Administer project intake and resource allocation processes within the team, assisting with prioritization and aligning efforts with organizational goals.
  • Provide mentorship and support to project leads and team members outside the PMO on best practices and project management tools.
  • Offer training sessions and guidance on using the PMO's framework, methodologies, and PPM software.
  • Develop training materials and documentation to assist teams in standardizing project management approaches.
  • Champion PMO standards and best practices, fostering a consistent and aligned approach to project management across departments.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting or managing projects.
  • Familiarity with the PMI framework, usually demonstrated through coursework or certifications (CAPM or PMP).
