About the position

The Associate Project Manager at VectorUSA will oversee Physical Layer, Surveillance, and Access Control projects, ensuring they meet defined objectives within set timelines and budgets. This role involves managing key project functions, including establishing project requirements, managing costs, schedules, and quality, while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The Associate Project Manager will also support the Estimation and Engineering department by participating in job walks to gather essential data for accurate bidding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing.
  • Review project documents such as RFPs, RFIs, SOWs, and floor plans to ensure project success.
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Initiate internal and client-facing kick-off meetings to set guidelines and expectations.
  • Monitor budget and schedule to ensure adherence to financial and time-related aspects of the project.
  • Manage and negotiate changes to project scope to align with client needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee supplier deliverables and schedules.
  • Conduct site visits to collect data for bids.

Requirements

  • At least three years of project management experience, preferably in physical layer infrastructure, surveillance, and access control.
  • Demonstrated understanding of PMI methodologies and structured project management processes.
  • Technical knowledge of fiber and copper infrastructure, surveillance systems, and access control systems.
  • Experience managing external consultants and clients, with strong conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for effective team and client relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • CAPM Certification to demonstrate familiarity with PMI principles.
  • Technical certifications specific to physical layer systems, surveillance, or access control.
  • A degree in a related field or equivalent training in project management principles.
