About the position

The Associate QA Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of a responsive website through comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes. This position involves planning, managing, maintaining, coordinating, and executing test scripts as part of a site redesign project. The individual will implement test plans in accordance with established guidelines by thoroughly analyzing project requirement documents and reviewing project documentation to ensure clarity in project requirements. In this role, the Associate QA Analyst will work with applications designed and developed using Java and Web Services. Responsibilities include preparing test plan documents, writing test procedures, and designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and executing scripts across various test environments to ensure consistency. The ability to execute test cases manually based on business requirements is essential. The individual will also collaborate with requirements teams to define test cases and maintain traceability, report defects, and escalate issues as necessary. The Associate QA Analyst will work closely with the software development team to reproduce and debug issues, demonstrating ownership and accountability through self-directed task management. Evaluating and communicating risk levels effectively is critical, as is producing status reports, including dashboards for executive summaries. The role requires strong analytical, diagnostic, and debugging skills, along with good oral communication and writing abilities. This position is designed for a motivated team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality assurance and testing of responsive web experiences. The Associate QA Analyst will follow Agile methodology and contribute to the overall success of the testing organization by applying appropriate technologies to meet both short and long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Implement test plans within current guidelines by analyzing project requirement documents.
  • Review project documentation for all assigned projects to ensure that the project requirements are clearly defined.
  • Work with applications designed/developed with Java and Web Services.
  • Prepare test plan documents and write test procedures.
  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and execute scripts across different test environments for consistency.
  • Execute test cases manually based on business requirements.
  • Work with requirements teams to define test cases and maintain traceability.
  • Report defects and escalate issues as needed.
  • Work closely with the software development team to reproduce and debug issues.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability through self-directed task management.
  • Evaluate and communicate risk levels, and use those assessments to execute tests effectively with abbreviated timelines.
  • Produce status reports as required including use of dashboards for executive summary.
  • Communicate risk to project timeline to program management and team.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience with quality assurance.
  • Recent experience testing responsive web experiences.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working in agile/iterative environments.
  • Requirements analysis and test cases creation with thorough coverage.
  • Manual test execution as required.
  • Defect Management and reporting.
  • Some understanding of Jenkins, GIT.
  • Follow Agile methodology.
  • Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, JIRA, Test Management Tool.
  • Familiarity or knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., HP Quality Center, Quick Test Professional (QTP), WinRunner, Selenium) or frameworks and use of those tools to execute/create/maintain/debug automation scripts and their results.
  • Adheres to development standards, software development lifecycle processes.
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve processes for increased agility and quality.
  • Automated Continuous Integration, Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline using Jenkins.
