About the position

The Associate Relationship Manager at Cogent Bank will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships and supporting portfolio management activities within the Specialty Lending Group. This position requires close collaboration with the Managing Director and team members to ensure the effective delivery of asset-based and alternative lending solutions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills and a strong passion for building and maintaining client relationships, which are essential for success in this role. In this position, the Associate Relationship Manager will assist in managing and nurturing client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for clients, and ensuring their needs are met with tailored financial solutions. The role also involves supporting the Managing Director and senior team members in managing a portfolio of asset-based lending clients, which includes monitoring loan performance, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures. The Associate Relationship Manager will perform detailed credit analysis and risk assessments for both new and existing clients, reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and collateral evaluations. Additionally, the individual will assist in the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of new and existing loan transactions, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential new business opportunities and staying informed about industry trends and developments will also be part of the responsibilities. Facilitating the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurate, and providing ongoing support during the initial stages of the client relationship are crucial tasks. The Associate Relationship Manager will prepare and present regular reports on portfolio performance, client activity, and market trends to senior management, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams, including credit, risk, and treasury management, to deliver comprehensive financial solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in commercial banking, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of asset-based lending principles, credit analysis, and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
