About the position

The Associate Reliability Engineer at Abbott's Sturgis, MI plant plays a crucial role in supporting the engineering activities related to the facility's infrastructure. This position focuses on enhancing equipment efficiency through mechanical, chemical, and electrical components, while also analyzing system failures and developing sustainability plans. Responsibilities

  • Assist in development, planning, and execution of plant-related engineering activities.
  • Analyze system failures to determine source and cause.
  • Participate in evaluating system conditions and developing long-term obsolescence and sustainability plans.
  • Plan and conduct small to medium-sized projects, including detailed project planning and monitoring.
  • Promote and drive continuous improvement programs utilizing common problem-solving tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure effective performance management while establishing a positive work environment.
  • Coordinate external contractors to perform work in a cost-effective and safe manner.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with engineering responsibility in a regulated industry (food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, etc.).
  • Project planning experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in an environment with complex equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of project planning tools and experience using them.
  • Experience working with and implementing Continuous Improvement tools & methodologies.
