The State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) is seeking an Associate Research Analyst to join the Research, Development and Planning Unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the mission of the department by providing support and assistance to personnel in the Connecticut State Police and the public. The Associate Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive examinations of law enforcement systems records, as well as the usage and documentation of criminal justice and non-criminal justice entities that utilize federal and state law enforcement systems. In this role, the Associate Research Analyst will meet with agency and department officials to review records, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The analyst will also be tasked with making recommendations to agencies based on their findings. This position requires a strong understanding of research methods and statistical analysis, as well as the ability to prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports. The analyst may also be called upon to prepare special reports in response to inquiries from the legislature or the public. The position is full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM. Travel may be required for conferences, training, or meetings, utilizing a department vehicle for these functions.
