Pearson is offering an 8-week internship in the summer of 2024 for two doctoral students with outstanding psychometric skills who wish to gain experience in large-scale educational assessment. The internship will include hands-on experience working with operational K-12 assessments. Specific activities may include various aspects of assessment development, item analysis, standard setting, and technical reporting. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of Pearson research scientists to gain applied experience on many of the tasks involved in supporting an operational K-12 assessment contract and enhance their understanding of ways to collaborate and communicate about educational measurement. Interns should be currently enrolled in a doctoral program in educational measurement, educational statistics, educational psychology, or a similar program. At least two years of doctoral-level coursework must be completed prior to the summer of 2023. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role. Pearson summer interns may not participate in other summer internship or externship programs concurrently.
