About the position

The Associate Research Scientist/Research Scientist position at Crystal Pharmatech focuses on solid-state research applied to active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and early formulation development. The role involves crystal form screening, single crystal growth, and physicochemical characterization, requiring strong laboratory skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various functional areas.

Responsibilities

• Crystal form screening, scale-up, and full characterization
• Utilize DSC, mDSC, TGA, KF, GC, HPLC, XRPD, PLM for data interpretation
• Conduct single crystal growth
• Develop HPLC methods
• Receive instrument use and theoretical training during the 3-month probation period

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field
• Hands-on laboratory experience with a research project and report writing during undergraduate studies, internship, or Master of Science studies; or minimum 1-year industrial lab experience
• Demonstrate fundamental understanding of scientific principles governing solid-state research
• Fundamental knowledge of general chemistry and physical organic chemistry
• Background in thermodynamics, polymorphism, crystallization, API, and formulation process development is preferred
• Hands-on HPLC experience is a plus
• Excellent lab skills with ability to quickly learn instrumentation
• High level of innovation and practical ingenuity
• Diligent in scientific rigor and integrity

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HPLC method development
• Knowledge of physicochemical characterization techniques
