About the position

The Associate Researcher position at Dr. Victor's Lab in the Department of Neuroscience at Mount Sinai focuses on investigating neuron-glia interactions in neurodegeneration. The role involves conducting experiments, analyzing results, and maintaining laboratory operations while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment. Candidates are expected to work closely with lab members on cutting-edge research using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and standardized experiments under direct supervision using appropriate research techniques.
• Analyze and assist in interpreting laboratory results.
• Perform assays to support research studies.
• Maintain laboratory environment and assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies.
• Log and test samples; prepare and submit laboratory materials and specimens for shipment.
• Assist in the collection, analysis, and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science or a related field preferred, or a combination of relevant research experience and education.
• 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.
• Prior experience in cell culture, particularly human pluripotent stem cell culture maintenance and differentiation, is strongly preferred.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR for genotyping, qPCR for gene expression quantification, and immunostaining is strongly preferred.
