About the position

The Associate Revenue Analyst position at Sonora Quest Laboratories is a full-time role based in Phoenix, Arizona, primarily focused on the research, analysis, and review of billing data. This position is integral to the Billing Management team, where the analyst will prepare reports and conduct data analysis as requested. The role requires collaboration with the billing team to resolve various billing issues, ensuring operational efficiencies within the reimbursements team through trend analysis and data-driven logic. The analyst will perform all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards. In this role, the analyst will prepare financial and production reports, supporting management with necessary analysis. They will identify and communicate billing and reimbursement issues, synthesizing complex billing information to enhance revenue and escalate trends. The position also involves auditing reimbursement-related financial transactions, interpreting and analyzing aging, cash flows, adjustments, and other accounts receivable data. Collaboration with both internal and external areas of the organization is essential to research and resolve billing issues, with a strong emphasis on root cause identification and process efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of billing, insurance, and medical billing processes, along with excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, coding languages such as Python and SQL, robotic process automation tools like Automation Anywhere, and data visualization software like Tableau is also required. This position is designed for individuals who can prioritize tasks effectively and communicate complex issues clearly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial and production reports and perform analysis as needed by management.
  • Support the identification and communication of billing and reimbursement issues.
  • Synthesize diverse and complicated billing information to drive staff production and enhance revenue.
  • Conduct ad hoc auditing of reimbursement-related financial transactions, including aging and cash flows.
  • Collaborate with external and internal areas to research and resolve billing issues, focusing on root cause identification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, data analysis, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to think analytically and conceptually.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex issues clearly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a related field of business or data analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and revenue cycle management.
  • Additional medical billing/insurance related experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Xifin, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, Python, Automation Anywhere.
  • Thorough knowledge of HTML and relational database concepts.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and project management concepts.
