About the position

As an Associate Sales Development Representative at SS&C, you will be immersed in a dynamic and collaborative team environment, working closely with experienced sales professionals. This role is pivotal in generating new business opportunities for the company, as you will be the first point of contact for prospective customers. Your primary responsibilities will include managing inbound and outbound sales inquiries, engaging with potential clients, and qualifying leads to ensure a smooth transition to the Sales Team after completing the Rotational Program. In this position, you will handle the lead lifecycle from the initial inquiry to qualification, setting the tone for the sales cycle. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is highly driven, results-oriented, and eager to learn about the financial industry. You should possess a coachable attitude and a strong ambition to succeed in sales. Your day-to-day activities will involve responding to phone calls and web-form submissions promptly, making outbound calls to identify new prospects, and understanding the technological challenges and business needs of clients through effective questioning. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records in the CRM system and enhancing your knowledge of SS&C's products and services through self-study and training. Building strong relationships across various teams and departments will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and pass inbound leads by responding to phone calls and web-form submissions in a timely manner
  • Make daily outbound calls to identify new prospects and generate high-quality opportunities for SS&C's larger sales organization
  • Understand and record the technological challenges and business needs of our clients and prospects through active listening and effective questioning
  • Provide qualified opportunities to field/client sales organizations to further account development
  • Research pertinent prospect information using multiple sources and input data into CRM, making updates as new interactions occur and more information is gathered
  • Understand the products and services offered by SS&C's larger portfolio of services and platforms; and regularly enhance said knowledge through self-study and scheduled internal trainings
  • Comply with established Sales Development processes and procedures and quickly adopt new ones as required
  • Maintain strong working relationships across multiple teams, across different departments, and across different regions; both internal and external
  • Shadow calls and product demos with Sales team to better understand SS&C's full sales lifecycle

Requirements

  • Detailed-oriented and has excellent written and verbal communication skills as well strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects
  • Skilled and active listener who can understand and empathize with customer and prospect needs and respond accordingly
  • BA/BS required
