About the position

The Associate Sales Engineer in Power Systems at SEL is responsible for developing strong partnerships with customers while delivering optimal solutions that meet their needs. This role involves managing customer relationships, understanding their requirements, and providing insights into SEL's products and technologies. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various teams to resolve customer feedback and product issues, while also maintaining sales forecasts and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with SEL customers.
  • Understand the true requirements and objectives of customers and deliver optimal SEL solutions.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of all SEL products and educate customers on SEL technology and innovation.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver upon quarterly orders forecasts and sales goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report industry, competitor, and customer trends to the greater SEL organization.
  • Work collaboratively to understand and drive the resolution of customer feedback and product issues.
  • Liaise between customers, contracts & risk, and accounts receivable to facilitate commercial relationships.
  • Utilize business tools to maintain customer relationship information, opportunity tracking, and sales activities.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in technical sales.
  • 1 or more years of experience in an electrical engineering or technical sales environment.
  • Demonstrated success working in a customer-facing role.
  • Effective and engaging communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in local language and business practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience using SEL products.
  • Utility and Industrial industry experience.
  • Leadership experience.
