As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding customer requirements and objectives, ensuring that the optimal SEL solutions are communicated and delivered effectively. This position requires a deep understanding of SEL's product offerings and the ability to educate customers on the latest technologies and innovations in the field. A typical day in this role involves managing and nurturing relationships with SEL customers, analyzing and reporting on industry trends, and collaborating with various departments to resolve customer feedback and product issues. You will also be tasked with maintaining quarterly order forecasts and sales goals, utilizing business tools to track customer relationships and sales activities. The role demands effective communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. The Associate Sales Engineer will also need to be adaptable, learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities as required. Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with SEL customers.
  • Understand the true requirements and objectives of customers and deliver optimal SEL solutions.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of all SEL products and educate customers on SEL technology and innovation.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver upon quarterly orders forecasts and sales goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report industry, competitor, and customer trends to the greater SEL organization.
  • Work collaboratively to understand and drive the resolution of customer feedback and product issues.
  • Liaise between customers, contracts & risk, and accounts receivable to facilitate commercial relationships.
  • Utilize business tools to maintain customer relationship information, opportunity tracking, and sales activities.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in technical sales.
  • 3 or more years of experience in an electrical engineering or technical sales environment.
  • Demonstrated success working in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to travel 75-80% of the time.
  • Effective and engaging communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in local language and business practices.
