About the position

The Associate Sales Representative for Interventional Therapies at Medtronic is responsible for driving sales of Medtronic's Interventional products within a designated territory. This role involves soliciting orders, maintaining customer relationships, and collaborating with an Interventional Therapy Consultant II to achieve sales targets. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities and managing existing accounts while adhering to company policies and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales by developing leads and making sales calls.
  • Grow existing Interventional business and develop new opportunities.
  • Work with minimal supervision to generate revenue and meet/exceed quota.
  • Manage accounts in assigned territory.
  • Implement approved marketing strategies.
  • Seek new customers and formulate plans for action as directed by the District Sales Manager.
  • Respond to customer complaints and advise the District Sales Manager of any significant issues.
  • Stay informed about competitors' products and practices and report to the District Sales Manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records as per District Sales Manager instructions.
  • Identify selling opportunities and collaborate with sales representatives to increase sales.
  • Complete all required product and sales training curriculum.
  • Prepare and submit call reports as required by the District Sales Manager.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
  • Cooperate with all personnel on the execution of Company programs.
  • Create and implement an annual business plan with quarterly updates.
  • Provide service to customers based on their individual needs.
  • Respond promptly to all reporting requirements and requests.
  • Adhere to company policies and conduct all business ethically.
  • Manage business within assigned budgets with profitability in mind.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to sell in an environment where partnering with a surgeon is critical.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and ability to explain it effectively after training.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accountability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Ortho, Spine, or O.R.
  • Ability to sell new devices or procedures.
  • Familiarity with the anatomy of the spine and anatomical landmarks.
