About the position

The Associate Scientist, Analytical Development at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Inc. will engage in research and development activities aimed at launching recombinant protein products for various applications including cell therapy, gene therapy, and bioproduction. This role involves supporting analytical method development, conducting analytical testing, and maintaining laboratory supplies, while also contributing to documentation and presentations related to the work performed.

Responsibilities

• Support analytical method development.
• Perform analytical testing to support process and product development.
• Support and become independent with various biological assays.
• Order, receive, and maintain adequate inventory of supplies for team experiments.
• Support data acquisition and basic data analysis.
• Contribute to the preparation of SOPs, data report summaries, formal reports and presentations.
• Support in the maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Support in troubleshooting experiments.
• Present and discuss job activities to internal teams and groups.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, or related science.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant working experience, or M.S in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, or related science.
• Prior analytical method development experience is preferable.
• Knowledge of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, HPLC, Electrophoresis, etc.).
• Knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and procedures.
• General knowledge of computer systems and productivity software.
• Ability to speak, write and read English fluently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
