About the position

The position involves joining Pfizer's Discovery Quantitative Analytical team at the Groton campus, focusing on early drug discovery through bioanalytical methodologies. The role emphasizes collaboration with various teams to support high-throughput in vitro biopharmaceutical screening operations, utilizing advanced technologies such as liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. The candidate will contribute to the development of new technologies and capabilities that enhance discovery operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support high-throughput in vitro biopharmaceutical screening operations using liquid-chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS)
  • Collaborate with various teams to support bioanalysis of complex in vitro pharmacokinetic assays
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot specialized LC-MS instrumentation and platforms
  • Document experimental results, perform critical review of data, and present findings internally and externally

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology or related discipline with 1-2 years laboratory experience
  • Familiarity with in vitro laboratory techniques
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment and/or automation
  • A commitment to timely delivery of quality work and overcoming obstacles in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstration of excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • BS in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography and/or mass spectrometry systems and software
  • Experience with small molecule LC-MS method development
  • Experience with plate-based in vitro techniques
  • Familiarity with liquid-handling automation
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting of instrumentation and/or processes based on experimental data
  • An ability to collaborate with team members in immediate group and across disciplines
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office software suite
