About the position
The Associate Scientist (Screening and Genotyping) role involves supporting a new target discovery pipeline utilizing CRISPR technologies. The position focuses on developing cell-based screening assays, analyzing CRISPR screens, and validating potential hits through various molecular and cell biology techniques.
Responsibilities
- Support development of cell-based screening assays.
- Perform and analyze CRISPR screens using mammalian cell culture systems.
- Validate potential hits from CRISPR screens.
- Establish and optimize CRISPR screens using genome-wide and/or targeted gRNA libraries.
- Work with cultured mammalian cell lines and primary cells.
- Perform flow cytometry, including FACS, and immunofluorescence experiments.
- Validate CRISPR-based gene editing at RNA, protein expression, and functional levels.
- Conduct experiments using state-of-the-art molecular and cell biology techniques.
- Design experiments, analyze and plot data, and communicate findings in meetings with the lab and company.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic lab records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology.
- 2-3+ years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience with tissue culture and cell engineering technologies.
- Deep understanding of CRISPR technologies and forward genetics.
- Experience with CRISPR screens, data analysis, and bioinformatics is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
