About the position

Insulet is seeking a motivated Associate Software Test Engineer to join our Research and Development team. This role is pivotal in the software quality assurance efforts associated with new product development and modifications. The Associate Software QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that new products are effectively verified and validated before their release for shipment. This includes confirming that the designs meet both documented and implied user needs and requirements. The software quality assurance process is lifecycle-oriented, beginning during the product requirements development phase and continuing throughout the product's lifetime. In this position, the Associate Software QA Engineer will create and execute test designs and test cases, working closely with the software development team to identify areas for improvement. The role also involves influencing the requirements definition and software design to maximize testability, as well as developing and extending protocols and plans as device features evolve. The successful candidate will perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the product development process.

Requirements

  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar field; 0-2 years hands-on experience in software quality assurance associated with real-time embedded software systems in regulated industry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and quick learner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with products from the prototype through 510(k)/ISO clearance and commercialization.
  • Hands-on experience using modern software development and quality assurance tools.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of software methodologies (black-box and white-box).
