About the position

As an Associate Software Quality Analyst at Pearson, your primary responsibility will be to assist with the final online form testing within the Publishing Services department prior to public release. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and functionality of educational assessment products. You will receive training and guidance from experienced team members, allowing you to follow established automation and manual testing practices effectively. Your tasks will include creating and implementing test cases, as well as tracking and documenting any defects or issues that arise during the testing process. In this position, you will assist with final XML validation and scoring testing of educational assessments before they are made public. You will work closely with your team to create test cases and document processes, ensuring that all testing is executed exactly as documented and in the required order. It is essential to document and track any defects and issues found during testing, collaborating with team members as needed and as directed. The role requires a strong command of technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new processes quickly. Attention to detail and organizational skills are paramount, as you will be expected to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively convey findings and collaborate with your team. You will be working primarily on a Windows platform, and experience in this area is required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of progressive experience as a software tester, test analyst/assistant, or relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience on Windows platform required.
  • Strong command of technical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes quickly.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience/exposure to Atlassian JIRA tracking system desirable.
  • Experience working with online forms in the education industry desirable.
  • General familiarity with XML desirable.
  • Exposure to automation processes desirable.
