About the position

Insulet is seeking a self-motivated Associate Software Test Engineer to contribute to the software quality assurance efforts related to product development and modifications. This role is crucial in ensuring that new products are effectively verified and validated before shipment, meeting user needs and requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The position also involves validating software development tools to enhance overall software quality.

Responsibilities

• Creating Use cases.
• Identifying and filling gaps in Use Case/test Case.
• Executing test plans, both manual and automated, and generating test reports.
• Creating and updating Trace matrices between requirements and test cases.
• Working closely with the software development team to identify improvements.
• Influencing the definition of requirements and software design to maximize testability.
• Overseeing and influencing the development of test objects to meet protocol needs.
• Developing and extending test cases (protocols) and plans as software application features evolve.
• Participating in product design reviews.
• Performing other duties as required.

Requirements

• Experience working with products from the prototype through 510(k)/ISO clearance and commercialization is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of software testing principles, practices, and metrics as well as software development methods best practices that foster high quality software.
• Hands-on experience using modern software development and software testing tools.
• Proven record developing and executing software test cases (protocols) for complex medical devices.
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, FDA regulations and international standards applicable to medical device software application development, verification, and validation is a plus.
• Provides automated testing expertise and knowledge of Python script language.
• BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field; 0-2 years hands-on experience in software quality assurance associated with real-time embedded software systems in regulated industry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
