About the position

The Associate Sourcing Manager (ASM) for Responsible Sourcing & Production Management will play a crucial role in establishing a new organization focused on responsible sourcing and production management. This position involves collaborating with various business partners to enhance production management throughout the product lifecycle, utilizing manufacturing data to set performance metrics and drive continuous improvement. The ASM will also contribute to achieving Disney's sustainability and transparency goals while promoting a diverse supplier base.

Responsibilities

• Manage production management and responsible sourcing efforts for multiple categories within a division.
• Work with suppliers to ensure key landmarks are met, including aggregation and acceptance of orders across all business units.
• Track and report production progress and manage in-season changes to business needs.
• Implement effective handoffs between Development Sourcing and Responsible Sourcing/Production at the time of Purchase Order (PO).
• Communicate vendor timelines, weekly progress reports, and troubleshoot shipment issues with affected regions.
• Handle in-season push, chase, and cancel requests, addressing any production delays and challenges.
• Evaluate initial workflows and develop plans for efficient data monitoring and communication with partners.
• Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports as requested, including time and action calendars and production timelines.
• Implement and supervise progress on strategic sourcing initiatives, such as Source Country Diversification and Sustainability.
• Evaluate suppliers throughout the PO/production process and partner with Development Sourcing to determine long-term strategies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience, preferably in specialty retail or consumer products.
• Exposure to sourcing and production of multiple product categories is preferred.
• Proven track record of effectively communicating with manufacturers.
• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple SKUs and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in gaining credibility and trust with diverse partners.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.
• Focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Flexibility and adaptability to change.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Product Development, Product Design, Business, or Supply Chain preferred.
