About the position

The Automation Engineer Associate will provide automation system support and expertise to the manufacturing and packaging division at the Wilson, NC site. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and compliant supply of quality vaccine and drug products. The position involves problem resolution, process control, data collection, and troubleshooting while adhering to regulatory standards such as GMP and safety protocols. The role emphasizes collaboration within a diverse and inclusive culture, interacting with various teams to support and learn about automated systems in a GMP environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide key automation support for various manufacturing equipment such as PLC/OEM platforms in Manufacturing/Packaging Operations.
  • Aid in troubleshooting equipment/automation issues or improving manufacturing performance through change control while maintaining compliance with cGMPs.
  • Support a large spectrum of automated systems within Utilities, Manufacturing, and Packaging Operations, learning new automation technologies.
  • Aid in authoring and maintaining technical documentation ensuring compliance with data integrity, safety, and environmental directives.
  • Support automation incidents, quality investigations, and corrective actions for automated equipment/systems to resolve complex problems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required; preferred bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues and external parties.
  • Experience providing automation coverage on various shifts/weekends in support of Manufacturing Operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in process control.
  • Aseptic processing/sterile manufacturing experience.
  • Technical and operational experiences in computer systems and programming.
