About the position

The Associate Sponsored Research Analyst position at Emory University is focused on providing support in the preparation and management of contractual awards within the Office of Sponsored Programs. This role involves assisting faculty and staff with proposal routing, reviewing contract terms, and maintaining accurate records in the contracts database. The position also includes coordinating necessary approvals and conducting educational seminars for faculty and staff, contributing to the university's commitment to research excellence and diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty and staff in preparing and routing proposals for contractual awards.
  • Review and process requests for extensions of contractual awards.
  • Assist Senior Analysts in reviewing and processing standard contract award amendments.
  • Interact with sponsors, faculty, and staff to resolve general matters regarding contractual awards.
  • Review basic contract terms/conditions and seek guidance from supervisors as needed.
  • Assist Senior Analysts in follow-up activities and related correspondence for pending contractual awards.
  • Assist in the preparation of Notice of Award Acceptance documents.
  • Respond to sponsor, faculty, or staff requests for additional information and/or clarification.
  • Coordinate obtaining required approvals or certifications from appropriate organizational committees.
  • Maintain required records and assist with updating data in the contracts database for accurate reporting.
  • Organize and conduct educational seminars/workshops for faculty and staff.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required, including special projects assigned by directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, applied science, or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
