About the position

Global Atlantic Financial Group is seeking an Associate for the Investment Accounting Team, a role that is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting and reporting related to statutory investment accounting. This position is based in Boston, MA, and operates under a hybrid work structure, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. The Associate will report directly to the AVP of Investment Accounting and will be responsible for reviewing the work of two other team members, making strong organizational skills and effective communication essential for success in this role. The Associate will engage in a variety of tasks, including completing statutory assignments such as investment NAIC Annual Statement schedules, footnotes, and interrogatories for seven insurance company entities. Training newer team members on investment accounting and reporting tasks will also be a key responsibility. The role requires performing control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, conducting frequent ad hoc analyses, and supporting new business initiatives as needed. Additionally, the Associate will review journal entries and Annual Statement reporting schedules, assist in planning and executing improvements to the quarterly reporting process, and support audit completion in regulatory communications. Candidates for this position should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and have at least four years of relevant experience, ideally within the insurance industry. A background in accounting, reporting, and investments is expected, with public accounting and statutory accounting experience considered advantageous. Strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and a high level of personal integrity and accountability are essential attributes for the ideal candidate. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Requirements
