About the position

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking an Associate for its Structured Finance team to support solar and battery storage project financing activities. This role is critical in financial modeling, engaging with capital providers, managing due diligence, and coordinating presentations to the Investment Committee. Associates will also manage project budgets and schedules as projects approach financial close, gaining exposure to project development and engineering workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze solar project investment opportunities using economic criteria such as unlevered and levered investment returns.
  • Prepare and own all aspects of the financial models for project financing transactions.
  • Lead weekly cross-functional meetings for project execution, focusing on timelines and risk evaluation.
  • Create and present materials for stakeholders, including executive management and external financing parties.
  • Manage internal and external project diligence and transaction timelines.
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets & M&A functions on corporate financing and project M&A opportunities.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with internal experts on tax, accounting, financing, structuring, and legal considerations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree (MBA or relevant graduate degrees welcome).
  • 3-6 years of finance experience, with experience in the renewable energy industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax equity structures in the solar industry.
  • Strong credit, financial analysis, quantitative, and modeling skills.
  • Self-motivated with high initiative and accountability.
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams across functions and offices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Unimpeachable ethics and integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in investment banking, project finance, or corporate M&A.
  • Desire to advance into a Director-level position in the solar and storage industry.
