The Associate Supply Chain Director (ADSC) position at HealthTrust Supply Chain is a pivotal role designed for individuals aspiring to advance their careers within the healthcare supply chain management sector. This position is part of a two-year developmental program that prepares candidates to transition into the role of Supply Chain Director or other key management positions within the organization. The ADSC will engage in a comprehensive training regimen that includes field training, classroom assignments, and computer modules, all aimed at enhancing management and technical skills necessary for effective supply chain operations. As an ADSC, you will have full-time management and operational responsibilities, which will include supervising staff, managing departmental operations, and participating in inventory management. You will also be responsible for developing and monitoring operational and capital budgets, preparing financial reports, and communicating vital information to facility and division management. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying trends in operational and financial performance, developing cost containment strategies, and exploring contracting opportunities to improve supply revenue and operational efficiencies. The program emphasizes the importance of completing scheduled classroom training, which includes curriculum from prestigious programs such as the Harvard Leadership Transitions program and the Supply Chain University program. You will also be expected to participate in quarterly reviews conducted by Supply Chain Senior Management to ensure your progress and competency in the role. This position not only offers a pathway to leadership within the supply chain but also contributes significantly to the overarching mission of HCA Healthcare, which is to enhance patient care through improved operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and pass scheduled classroom training, including curriculum from the Harvard Leadership Transitions program and the Supply Chain University program.
  • Successfully complete field training assignments within a hospital and division setting.
  • Serve as a supervisor in an assigned facility and as a project coordinator for division projects.
  • Participate in quarterly reviews conducted by Supply Chain Senior Management and a facility Supply Chain Director.
  • Review the Supply Chain model and assess operations performance against the model, making recommendations for change.
  • Act as a supervisor, training and monitoring staff performance to ensure job responsibilities and Supply Chain initiatives are accomplished.
  • Participate in inventory management and departmental operations.
  • Develop and monitor operational and capital budgets, and prepare financial Supply Chain reports.
  • Identify trends in operational and financial performance, develop supply cost containment strategies, and identify potential contracting opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a healthcare-related focus is required.
  • MBA is preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, logistics, and/or finance is preferred.
