As a Technical Project Manager at Pearson, you will play a pivotal role in the Assessment Operations Group, which is a dedicated Project Management Organization that supports state programs and various technical initiatives. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and thrive in collaborative environments. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of projects, including software development, information technology, and infrastructure. Your role will involve analyzing business processes and workflows, identifying high-level business requirements, and developing comprehensive project schedules. You will act as a catalyst for successful project implementation, adhering to Agile methodologies for both development and testing phases. Communication will be key, as you will engage with partners at all levels and oversee the complete project life cycle, from preliminary planning through to project closure. This is a part-time, contract position that will run through July 15, 2025, requiring you to work an agreed schedule of 4 hours each weekday, totaling 20 hours per week. Your primary responsibilities will include managing software development and business process analysis projects that involve cross-functional teams, ensuring the delivery of products or services. You will develop and maintain project charters, detailed work plans, schedules, status reports, and risk registers tailored to the scope and complexity of each project. Tracking the execution of projects and providing positive leadership will be essential to ensure successful delivery, with a focus on cost, schedule, scope, quality, and communication. You will also coordinate efforts among all team members, fostering a cooperative environment and collaboration across all areas, while performing project risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans as necessary.
