About the position

The Associate Technical Solutions Engineer role at Google Cloud focuses on providing technical support and consulting for data analytics solutions. The position involves troubleshooting customer-reported issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to enhance customer satisfaction and drive business growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics and underlying architectures by troubleshooting and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues.
• Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
• Work as part of a global team of engineers/consultants to ensure 24-hour customer support, including non-standard work hours and weekend work.
• Understand customer issues and advocate for their needs within internal teams, including Product and Engineering teams.
• Work with customers on their production databases to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in technical support, professional services, software development, or product operations management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in technical consulting on database design and architecture for large enterprise customers with high SLO and SLA requirements.
• Experience in data analytics, warehousing, ETL development, data science, or other Big Data applications.
• Experience working in distributed applications or micro-services in a cloud-based environment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with SQL database administration, open source software communities, Cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing.
• Experience working in a dynamic organization with cross-collaboration across functions.
