About the position

At CIVCO, we are dedicated to enhancing the safety of image-guided procedures through our innovative products. With over 40 years of experience, our focus remains on developing solutions that prioritize patient safety. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in our Technical Communications team, responsible for creating and maintaining product labels and instruction manuals for a diverse range of medical products. Your work will involve translating complex technical information into clear, concise documentation that adheres to global medical device regulations. You will collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information, ensuring that all publications are accurate and ready for release. In this position, you will be expected to organize material and complete writing assignments according to established standards for clarity, conciseness, and terminology. You will create high-quality documentation and design artwork for presentation within these documents. Additionally, you will process and release instructions and product labeling through change management software, proofread and peer review documentation, and participate in special projects as they arise. Your attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Create high-quality documentation for product labels and instruction manuals.
  • Design artwork for presentation in documentation.
  • Process and release instructions and product labeling through change management software.
  • Proofread and peer review documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in special projects as they arise in the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; preferred bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Attention to detail to ensure work is accurate and free of errors.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including spelling, composition, and grammar rules.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely according to company and global standards.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in cross-functional team settings.
  • Ability to give and accept constructive feedback among team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job.
  • Regular attendance and face-to-face interaction with team members, peers, and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Change Management processes.
