About the position

The Associate Test Engineer position at KLA involves testing new technologies in manufacturing, focusing on optics, opto-mechanical systems, electrical/PCB, and system integration. The role requires hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting, with responsibilities that include setting up and calibrating equipment, developing test specifications, and preparing technical reports. The position emphasizes collaboration and continuous learning in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Determine and develop test specifications, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
  • Test and troubleshoot assemblies and/or final systems, completing rework as necessary.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
  • Assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
  • Work on moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
  • Perform ongoing daily work with minimal instruction and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Provide work assignment direction and technical training to peers.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in electrical component level testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment.
  • Experience with systems development and testing, including formulating system level requirements and test specifications.
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes and DVM analysis tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use and manipulate a variety of fine adjustment hand tools, torque wrenches, and calipers.
  • Effective collaboration across different functional teams in various locations.
  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills with a logical approach to problem solving and good time management.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow general instructions on new assignments.
  • Prior hands-on experience testing digital and/or analog components and systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated drawings, mathematics, and handbook formulas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of LabView, Linux, and MS Office suite software.
