CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Test Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for diesel driven pump equipment, ensuring compliance with product specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Functional & Performance Testing: Execute functional, performance, and durability testing on new products to validate design and ensure operational efficiency.
Defect Identification & Troubleshooting: Identify defects, deviations, and potential failure points through detailed testing and root cause analysis. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
Data Collection & Analysis: Utilize precision measurement tools and data acquisition systems to collect and analyze data on flow, pressure, speed, vibration, temperature, and other performance indicators.
Test Equipment & Setup: set up and maintain test rigs, instrumentation, and equipment necessary for testing rotating machinery in both production and field environments.
Compliance & Certification Testing: Ensure that products meet certification standards such as ANSI, HI, ISO, ASME, NEMA, or customer specific requirements.
Automation & Process Improvement: Develop automated test process where applicable to improve efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in testing methodologies.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed test reports including test results, issues identified, and corrective actions taken. Present findings to internal stakeholders and participate in product design reviews.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including design engineers, manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management to ensure that products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with company safety protocols. Monitor and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)
1+ year or more experience in a related field; experience within construction, industrial, municipal or mining industries preferred.
Experience with rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, compressors, generators, diesel engines, motors, etc.).
Familiarity with pump performance curves include flow, head, power, and NPSHr.
Understanding of vibration analysis, thermography, and other condition monitoring techniques.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. ANSI, HI, ISO, ASME, NEMA).
Proficiency in testing tools and instrumentation including pressure transducers, flowmeters, accelerometers, etc.
Familiarity with test automation tools and data acquisition systems.
Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present technical findings to a non-technical audience.
