About the position

The Associate Transmission System Operator position at Eversource Energy is an entry-level role designed to provide the necessary experience and training for advancement to a full Transmission System Operator. The role involves gaining knowledge of the generation, transmission, and sub-transmission systems, as well as operating procedures and guidelines under the supervision of a Transmission System Operator.

Responsibilities

• Become knowledgeable of the generation, transmission, and sub-transmission system components and operating procedures.
• Perform duties under the guidance of the Transmission System Operator.
• Assist in maximizing transmission reliability and availability while minimizing congestion.
• Understand and apply operating procedures and guidelines effectively.

Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or two years of formal technical training beyond high school or equivalent.
• Four years of related experience in generating stations, electrical maintenance, power system protection, control, electrical system line work, or power system dispatching.
• Ability to analyze information, prioritize actions, and make decisions accordingly.
• Effective communication skills to work with various levels of the organization.
• Mathematical reasoning ability and proficiency with computer-based applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with local flow tools and applications.
• Familiarity with utility industry groups and transmission customers.
