About the position

The Associate Trust Administrator at Fifth Third Bank plays a crucial role in servicing a client base by partnering with Senior Trust Advisors and Trust Administrators. This position involves the administration of fiduciary accounts, ensuring compliance with governing documents, and enhancing client satisfaction and retention through effective service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate fiduciary services for client relationships including cash processing.
  • Support the administration of multigenerational trusts with discretionary income and principal payments.
  • Facilitate the execution of estate plan documents where Fifth Third Private Bank serves as Trustee or Agent.
  • Retain client base by collaborating with the client service team and service providers to optimize client service standards.
  • Complete annual administrative account reviews and manage issue resolution.
  • Maintain and interface with the trust accounting system.
  • Review daily account activity for quality assurance in the Wealth and Asset Management Workflow System.
  • Ensure compliance with internal fiduciary policies and documentation requirements.
  • Work closely with the Trust Tax Team for proper tax reporting.
  • Open and close accounts, process additions and distributions from accounts.
  • Interact frequently with various operations teams within the Bank.
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making skills balancing business risk with client interests.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency for client service and project completion.
  • Balance competing priorities while working with multiple officers and managers.
  • Recommend enhancements to policies and procedures.
  • Develop knowledge of current trends in fiduciary matters and participate in department projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; willingness to work toward professional licenses (e.g. CTFA, CFP, CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated fiduciary administration/client service success preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in trust administration, estate planning strategies, and tax matters.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Professional presence within professional and community organizations.
  • Strong computer/technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in a fast-paced team environment with professionals from multiple disciplines.
