About the position

The Associate Upstream Marketing Product Manager for High Voltage Therapies at Abbott Laboratories is responsible for leading product strategy and new product development for Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators (ICD) and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy - Defibrillators (CRT-D). This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that new products meet customer needs and improve patient care. The position requires a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive offerings, and the ability to translate customer insights into actionable marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, support, and execute a cohesive vision and strategy for a specific product line in collaboration with global marketing counterparts and stakeholders.
  • Seek cross-functional alignment on new product and feature development by executing Abbott CRM marketing processes.
  • Develop alignment on problem and opportunity statements, Target Product Profile, Minimum Viable Product Profile, and other upstream activities throughout product development cycles.
  • Understand competitive offerings and provide value propositions to differentiate products in a profitable manner.
  • Support the development of the Marketing Plan for responsible product lines by incorporating strategic direction.
  • Present products during customer visits and internal review meetings.
  • Collect and maintain global voice of customer (VOC) feedback through market research and field engagement.
  • Generate customer insights including market segmentation, value proposition, targeting, and claims development.
  • Analyze VOC, sales data, and financials to quantify new opportunities and build NPV models.
  • Create data-driven recommendations and deliverables that support annual marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in product development team activities by representing VOC and commercially aligned inputs.
  • Contribute input to in-house groups affecting business objectives for responsible products.
  • Build and maintain communication with all areas affecting the products, including global marketing partners and R&D.
  • Execute marketing strategic plans that drive new product flow to customers, addressing needs and highlighting differentiation.
  • Support downstream marketers in developing positioning, messaging, and branding work based on VOC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Life Science/Biomedical Engineering, or Systems Engineering related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in international marketing/product management in the medical device, life science research, pharma, or diagnostics industry.
  • Strong project management and team skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and prioritize work according to business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating at multiple organizational levels.

Nice-to-haves
