About the position

The U.S. Content Strategy & Analysis team at Warner Bros. Discovery is responsible for conducting comprehensive content analysis for the streaming platforms Max and Discovery+. This role involves evaluating new original content and acquisition deals, performing renewal analyses, and providing insights to leadership on content performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for media, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams to enhance decision-making and content strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct title-level greenlighting & renewal analyses for Streaming, developing narratives around valuation and performance insights to share with key stakeholders.
  • Help stress test and improve analytical frameworks used for assessing key strategic questions across our content offering.
  • Collaborate with other teams - especially Product Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Research, and Business Intelligence - to improve deliverables for key internal stakeholders.
  • Support in the compilation and communication of content performance analyses through write-ups and presentations, often in response to ad hoc requests.
  • Understand and work through the cross-platform dynamics between Streaming, Linear, and other platforms as it impacts potential outcomes for Max and Discovery+.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of media industry trends and competitive activity.
  • Provide support for senior management in key presentations around content strategy, new initiatives, and major decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-4 years relevant work experience in Analytics, Consulting, Investment Banking, or Research, informing strategic & corporate initiatives.
  • Excellent analytic skills and modeling capabilities, with a deep attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize output from analyses, identify the 'so-what', develop early hypotheses, and propose the next line of inquiry.
  • Experience in building executive-level materials, with a keen eye for presentation design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Experience wrangling large data sets and developing analytical narratives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in media/communications is particularly useful but not required.
  • Experience writing SQL queries or Python/R scripts, or using visualization/manipulation tools like Looker, Tableau, and Microstrategy.
  • A passion for entertainment and staying on top of industry trends.
