About the position

The Associate UX Designer at OrderMyGear (OMG) will play a crucial role in enhancing the eCommerce experience for clients and their customers. This position involves collaborating with multi-faceted teams to design UI/UX systems, features, and workflows throughout the digital product lifecycle. The designer will advocate for the end-user while considering technical limitations, contributing to the company's mission of shaping the future of group online commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role on the design team's UX efforts, from quickly prototyping ideas to producing high-fidelity designs of new features and products
  • Confidently and clearly communicate and present your work to internal team members and possibly external vendors, answering questions and articulating information
  • Uncover and understand user needs, goals and behaviors and translate them into thoughtful user-centric products and features
  • Work closely with product management and engineering counterparts to develop, measure, and iterate designs
  • Participate in peer design reviews and UX meetings to help strengthen our skills as a team
  • Stay abreast of new and innovative trends in the field of user experience
  • Shadow fellow team members to build and improve your own UX and UI skills

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of professional design experience, preferably in UI/UX
  • A body of past work that showcases strong core UI design skills including interaction design, visual hierarchy, and attention to detail
  • Experience with Figma, Sketch, Invision, or other design and prototyping tools
  • Enjoys working collaboratively in small teams with other specialized individuals
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, a passion for quality, and the ability to conceptualize and define beautiful UI/UX
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with agile and working directly with engineers
  • Fluency in Figma and working with design systems or libraries
