To further this mission, Danone Ventures (DV), the corporate venture team of Danone, was formed. DV identifies early-stage food and foodtech start-ups that share Danone's vision of a future of healthy and sustainable food. By leveraging equity investments as a tool, DV facilitates strong value-creating partnerships between Danone and start-ups. The team is looking for a bright, self-motivated, and thoughtful Associate Venture and Finance Manager with over 5 years of professional experience. The Associate Manager will have a dual focus: first, leading financial management and reporting related to Danone Venture's portfolio companies and associated investments, which includes working closely with portfolio company financial leaders and liaising with Danone's accounting and finance teams. Second, the role will support strategic thinking and assessment related to investment territories and execution of investments, which encompasses sourcing, investment research, building financial and other quantitative models, conducting due diligence, and creating investment recommendations. Additionally, this Associate Manager will play an important role in the operations of the team, helping manage day-to-day activities that support broader Danone initiatives in which DV is involved. This position is based out of the New York, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial management and reporting related to DV's investments and consolidated companies.
• Work closely with portfolio company finance leads and Danone finance colleagues to accurately report Danone Venture's financial and investment holdings.
• Collaborate with DV Managing Director and Danone accounting and finance teams in the US and Europe to reforecast and update the team on investments as needed.
• Lead strategic deep dives into investment focus areas, identifying trends, relevant funds and programs, and interesting start-ups.
• Support the investment process by identifying investment prospects, conducting screenings, performing due diligence on prospective companies, researching industries and competitors, and building financial models.
• Perform market research and due diligence for potential investments, including valuation and financial returns analysis.
• Manage team initiatives supporting the general operations of Danone Ventures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related fields from a top university; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably from Investment Banking, Equity Research, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Strategy Consulting.
• Strong understanding and experience with accounting and corporate finance.
• Experience with financial modeling, research and analysis, and presentation building.
• Demonstrated analytical ability, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Experience with and interest in food & beverage or similar consumer verticals.
• Knowledge of syndicated data (IRI, SPINS, Nielsen) is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced and lean environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a small team.
• Ability to work in the New York City office (hybrid schedule).
