About the position
VCA South Shore Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their 24-hour emergency/specialty/general practice in Weymouth, MA. The role involves a flexible schedule of 4 days per week, combining general practice, surgery, and emergency care. The hospital is well-equipped and offers a diverse caseload, providing comprehensive care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality veterinary care in a general practice and emergency setting.
- Perform surgeries and emergency procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with a team of veterinarians and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and mentorship programs.
- Engage with clients to provide education and support regarding their pets' health.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- State veterinary license in good standing.
- Experience in general practice and emergency care is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques such as CT and fluoroscopy.
- Interest in mentorship and teaching within the internship program.
