About the position

The Associate Veterinarian at Yelm Veterinary Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care and exceptional client service while ensuring the well-being of the hospital environment. This role is ideal for both seasoned veterinary professionals and recent graduates, offering a supportive mentorship program and a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality care and exceptional service to maintain a positive hospital environment.
  • Adhere to all WellHaven protocols and practices, overseeing employees to prioritize practice goals.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Doctor to establish development plans that align with hospital objectives.
  • Practice veterinary medicine in compliance with the State Veterinary Practice Act and maintain appropriate medical record documentation.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate medical charting for all patients, meeting hospital quality control standards.
  • Provide comprehensive client communication, including in-person, phone, and email as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and current medical practices.
  • Advocate for exceptional client service and patient well-being.
  • Consistently provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service to clients.
  • Effectively resolve customer complaints as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.
  • State Veterinary Board License in good standing on the first day of employment.
  • Current USDA Accreditation is a plus.
  • Experience in veterinary medicine with a focus on client service and patient care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with anesthesia and surgery procedures.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software systems (EMR, Scheduling, etc.).
  • Ongoing professional development and continuing education.
