About the position

Castleberry Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian with at least 2 years of experience. The role involves diagnosing, performing surgeries, and treating patients while maintaining excellent client communication. The hospital is equipped with modern facilities including digital radiography and an open layout treatment room. The position requires collaboration with DVM teammates and active participation in maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients.
• Maintain excellent client communication.
• Record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information accurately.
• Call clients for follow-up and to discuss results.
• Collaborate to improve and maintain high standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical cases.
• Communicate clearly and accurately through written and verbal interactions.
• Collaborate with DVM teammates on complicated, rare, and interesting cases.
• Provide feedback and changes to the training program.
• Provide input to the hospital manager for employee performance evaluations.

Requirements

• Active and in good standing Georgia state license.
• At least 2 years of veterinary experience.
• Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries.
• Proficient in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, and dental skills.
• Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs.
• Knowledge of anesthesia and recovery states.
• Ability to instruct team on adjustments to medication protocol.
