About the position
The Associate Veterinarian position at Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center involves working with a specialized team of veterinarians in a full-service primary care, referral, and emergency hospital for horses. The role focuses on providing high-quality veterinary care, including sports medicine, surgery, internal medicine, and emergency services, while ensuring excellent customer service to clients and their horses. The position offers a diverse caseload both in the hospital and in the field, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide veterinary care for horses, including sports medicine, surgery, and internal medicine.
- Perform emergency and critical care services as needed.
- Work collaboratively with a team of veterinarians and support staff.
- Maintain licensure and accreditation to practice in Nevada.
- Engage with clients to provide excellent customer service and education about horse care.
Requirements
- Licensure and accreditation to practice veterinary medicine in Nevada.
- Experience in equine veterinary care, particularly in a full-service setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with advanced veterinary procedures such as endoscopy and laparoscopy.
- Familiarity with digital radiography and ultrasound technology.
