About the position

The Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration at the University of Washington serves as a senior advisor, providing oversight and leadership for various service areas to support the university's educational, research, and patient care missions. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective operations and alignment with the university's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic and long-term planning initiatives for the CAO.
  • Serve as the chief advisor to the CAO, providing necessary information and reports.
  • Manage high-priority projects to achieve the university's mission.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external constituents.
  • Communicate vision and decisions to the CAO's executive team.
  • Develop presentations and prepare remarks for the CAO.
  • Participate in strategic process improvement and operational change management.
  • Analyze data for operational efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure initiatives promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Monitor and review administration departments for policy and fiscal operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Master's degree with eight years of leadership experience.
  • Previous Chief of Staff experience.
  • Experience in higher education or similar enterprises.
  • Knowledge in administrative services, HR, or IT.
