About the position

The Associate Vice President for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer (AVP, IT) at Community College of Philadelphia is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing and directing the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems to enhance business operations. This position aims to improve cost-effectiveness, service quality, and business development while leading the overall effectiveness and operations of the Information Technology Services (ITS) division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in computer operations and senior management, particularly within higher education, and will be tasked with addressing the institution's diverse technology needs.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and direct the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems.
  • Improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development through IT initiatives.
  • Provide leadership for the overall effectiveness and operations of the ITS division.
  • Lead strategic planning and administration of information technology.
  • Define user needs and develop information systems accordingly.
  • Manage technical personnel and oversee their development.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in all phases of computer operations.
  • Three years of senior management experience in computer operations, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience with IT planning, system design/implementation, and management of technical personnel.
  • Ability to lead strategic planning and administration of information technology.
  • Experience using an enterprise-wide system, preferably Ellucian Banner or a similar system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education technology leadership.
  • Familiarity with budget management and resource allocation in IT.
