About the position

The Associate Vice President for Information Technology / Chief Information Officer (AVP, IT/CIO) at Community College of Philadelphia is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing and directing the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems. This position aims to enhance business operations, improve cost-effectiveness, and ensure high-quality service delivery within the institution's IT division. The AVP, IT/CIO will report to the Vice President for Business and Finance and will play a crucial role in addressing the diverse technology needs of the college.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and direct the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems to support business operations.
  • Improve cost effectiveness and service quality within the IT division.
  • Lead strategic planning and administration of information technology.
  • Define user needs and develop information systems accordingly.
  • Manage technical personnel and oversee their development.
  • Ensure the overall effectiveness and operations of the ITS division.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in all phases of computer operations.
  • Three years of senior management experience in computer operations, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience with IT planning, system design/implementation, and management of technical personnel.
  • Ability to lead strategic planning and administration of information technology.
  • Experience using an enterprise-wide system, preferably Ellucian Banner or a similar system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education technology leadership.
  • Familiarity with budget management and resource allocation in IT.
