About the position

The Associate Vice President of Development Operations at Kansas State University Foundation is a leadership role focused on overseeing key departments within the fundraising division. This position is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, implementing strategies, and mentoring teams to drive innovative solutions in fundraising and donor engagement. The AVP will collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to shape the future of development operations through visionary leadership and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee assigned divisions including fundraising administrative support, volunteer engagement, events, and principal gift operations.
  • Develop and implement processes and systems to support fundraising and donor engagement activities.
  • Monitor usage of the development budget, identify trends, and suggest opportunities for effective budget usage.
  • Identify effective use of technology platforms and implement new systems to enhance productivity.
  • Manage professional development resources and deliver training to optimize team performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • 10 years of full-time experience in development operations or similar work implementing and optimizing operational systems and processes.
  • 5 years of leadership experience managing multiple individual contributors and people leaders.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, particularly in higher education.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in or alongside project management, volunteer engagement, fundraising, and event management.
  • Understanding of the collaboration needs between development, administrative support, volunteer engagement, and event management.
  • Leadership experience overseeing multiple departments with various goal initiatives.
